Stainless steel surface blasting by ballotine
Blasting by ballotine belongs to modern surface treatment methods for anti-corrosion steels. This method is based on blasting of surface with glass or ceramic granulate carried by an air stream under pressure of 0,6 up to 0,7 MPa. After blasting, the surface is velvet smooth up to velvet matt. It also depends on the type and grain size of abrasive material used.
The chamber in which blasting is performed is not allowed to contain parts or any other elements of carbon material. It could cause attrition by abrasive material and consequent contact with stainless steel could cause application respectively knocking o the carbon material into the stainless surface. And as a consequence, there could appear corrosion of noble material on blasted surface. But even correctly technologically performed blasting is not anti-corrosive, but „only“ appearance surface treatment. Anti-corrosion resistance of material can be arranged only by thorough staining.
More, there is also important the locksmithing processing of the product, like rounding of edges, grinding of cutting edges, grinding of welds and so on. There is also a great importance of experience and technological discipline of employees. All these facts affect the general quality and appearance of the product.
Our company has extensive experience with ballotine blasting, which already proved several hundreds of our satisfied customers in various branches of industry in the whole territory of the Czech Republic. At the present time we perform blasting in two special chambers with dimensions 5 x 5 and 10 x 5 m.
Our main orders included a series of ultromats with the weight of 2,5 t/piece, pressure vessels up to the length of 8 m, parts of interiors in Prague castle and the new terminal of the Paris airport, interiors in several banks, facades of administrative buildings, etc. Together with these orders, we also co-operate with many companies in the field of mechanical engineering and locksmithing workshops.
Technical Parameters
We perform the works in our chamber in Brno.
Dimensions of small chamber:
length 5 000 mm, width 5 000 mm, the limiting value is the gate dimension: width 3 600 mm, height 3 600 mm
Dimensions of large chamber:
length 10 000 mm, width 5 000 mm, the limiting value is the gate dimension: width 3 800 mm, height 4 200 mm
Based on agreement, even parts with length exceeding the chamber length may be blasted.
After blasting, consequent surface conservation may be performed (against finger prints, and so like). We can perform packaging of any form any type.
